Friday, august 1st beach vibes!

Enjoy our conference kick-off day in SoCal Style, enjoy a fun beach gathering or enjoy a small group meet-up activity earlier to experience some favorite outdoor activities in Dana Point. Always popular as provides an opportunity to meet people in smaller groups before the larger nighttime festivities ensue.

9 - 11:00 am MORNING ACTIVITES - See Details & refer to pictures/maps below!

  • 9:00 am - Dana Point Headlands Hike. Host: Kris Dalton
    This loop hike is under 3.0 miles, will get your morning cardio on. It is a moderate trail with hills and stairs but well groomed with alot of flat areas too. This hike will provide beautiful ocean views. Little to no shade, so bring sun protection. No dogs or bikes allowed on these trails. The group will leave the parking area by 9:20 am, it’s a loop so you won’t get lost. We should be done before 11 am.

    Parking Location: Strand Vista Park- 34109 Selva Road, Dana Point
    There is a bathroom at the parking lot as well.

    9:30 am - Kayak or SUP at Dana Point Harbor

  • Reserve online for 1 hr, use the reservation time of 10:15 am
    Meet-up time at Pure Sports in Dana Point is 9:45 am so we can get the group gathered & be on the water at 10:15 sharp to not miss out on our beach time!

    NOTE: Guests with their own boards or Kayaks must use designated public launch areas at Baby Beach or Doheny Beach.

  • 11:15 AM (ish) Optional Lunch Meet-ups MSA & Singles 55+ after the various activities. Non-Hosted - eat there or order your food to-go and head to the beach to enjoy a picnic lunch!

    Mid-Singles - Shwack Beach Grill 24502 Del Prado, Dana Point, CA 92629. Great selection of food, fun vibe, popular non-chain restaurant for locals and vacationers alike. Recommend to not order the hamburgers though as that is dinner!

    Singles 56+ Harbor House Cafe offers in-person dining or online to-go orders if you wish to take your food to the beach party and eat there.

  • 11:30 am - 3pm Doheny Beach Party: Host: Kim Haugen 25300 Dana Point Harbor Drive, Dana Point CA. After your morning activities, bring a picnic lunch to the beach and join us at the beach in beautiful Dana Point, hosted by San Clemente Singles Committee at Doheny State Beach. Look for the conference Easy up and Welcome sign at the SOUTH end of the State Beach (to the left if facing the water) between the Beach Palapa and the Main Lifeguard Tower. We will set up on the beach/sand not at a picnic shelter. Bring your towel or chair to sit on.

  • DIRECTIONS FROM ORANGE COUNTY/LOS ANGELES:  Take I-405 San Diego Fwy SOUTH or I-5 Santa Ana Fwy SOUTH and follow to  Dana Point Harbor Dr/Del Obispo St in Dana Point. Turn LEFT on to Dana Point Harbor Drive and then LEFT again into the park entrance at Park Lantern Street.

    DIRECTIONS FROM SAN DIEGO:  Take I-5/ i-805 NORTH to Dana Point Harbor Dr. and turn RIGHT, then LEFT into the park at Park Lantern. 

    FOOD: Water and snacks available from the conference tent.  Food is also available at the beach stand for Doho Café -- Home | Doho Cafe at Doheny State Beach

    PARKING AT DOHENY STATE PARK: Vehicle day use is $15 for the day for one passenger vehicle or one motorcycle. For persons 62 years of age or older, there is a $1 discount. There is no charge to walk or bike into the park.

    ·       Puerto Place adjacent to Doheny State Beach also has paid parking at an hourly rate. Remember to pay at a pay station before you leave the lot.

    FREE PARKING AT DANA POINT HARBOR:  The new harbor entrance at Golden Lantern and the Dana Point Harbor Parking Structure are open to the public offering 4 hours free parking.   Free street parking may also be found along Dana Point Harbor Drive east of Casitas Place and along Golden Lantern to the north of the harbor.  This is a short 10-15 minute walk to the beach.  Link to the map here: Parking - Dana Point Harbor

  • Dress: Casual but Beachy theme, think Hawaiian, floral prints, sundresses, beach t-shirts, tropical vibe; Shorts or Jeans ok. No bathing suits or cover ups please.

  • Location: Laguna Niguel Stake Center: 22851 Aliso Creek Road, Aliso Viejo, CA 92656 (entrance will be at the front of the building as you enter into the lot)

  • 6pm - 7:30 pm Dinner - Food Truck Bringing Back a local favorite TK Burgers menu offered: Cheeseburger, Hamburger, Veggie Burger or Grilled Chicken Sandwich served with Chips, Water Bottle or Soda.

  • Churro Truck for Dessert (later in the dance)

  • 7:00 pm - 7:20 pm First-Timers Meet-up Check registration table for location

  • 7:30 - 8:30 pm Dance Instruction Mingle with professional instructor Melanie Seally who will be facilitating this interactive event, enjoy an opportunity to rotate partners allowing for new introductions in a low stress, have fun and hopefully laugh alot even as your feet may become entangled, makes for more fun on the dance floor if you can have fun and laugh a bit! The point is to get you up and moving, meeting people, not to teach you to be a pro-dancer, two left feet? Yes, do it, we need you!!! Try something new if you have never done a dance class, it’s a great ice breaker to meet new people before the dance starts as you will rotate partners.

  • 7 - 10:30 pm Enjoy live acoustic music outdoors, the perfect addition to a Summer evening with Chris Cram - The Human Jukebox performing on the patio. A Conference favorite returns!

  • 8:30 - 11:30 pm DJ Kuresa spinning the tunes, will keep the dancefloor hopping!

  • 8:30 - 11:30 pm Step into the Speed Mingling lounge rounds by age, 25 min rounds, Surf/Summer/Beach icebreaker questions, talk to 8-10 people per round; No weird questions, just easy fun face time. Come enjoy more meaningful quick connections in a more relaxed vibe; Don’t leave without scanning the QR code to access your group members on What’s App Group Chats by age group after to continue the fun convos! Space is limited, so check-in to sign up outside the Speed Mingling Lounge. Got a Guy friend you can bring with you, bring him and skip the wait list! hosted by Matt Campbell!
