1:30 pm Dan Fuller
Location: Mission Viejo Institute Building - adjacent to Stake Center
Title: The Restoration of the Gospel of Jesus Christ, — It’s prelude & it’s impact on the worldDan Fuller is a lawyer, but we won’t hold that against him, he is a generous and gifted scholar that loves to share his insights with the singles. Dan returns by popular demand for a bonus Post-Lunch Workshop, let’s dive deeper together!
2 pm - 4pm Volleyball at Mission Viejo Stake Center Host: Alex Baro
Beat the heat at the stake center - enjoy some friendly competition and get moving after a morning of exercising your brain! Friendly, non-competitive play, all welcome!1:30 pm - 4:30 pm Excursion: Laguna Beach by Trolley, non-hosted
Leave Mission Viejo Stake Center by 1:30 PM to drive to the Irvine location for the FREE trolley that should leave around 2ish or 2:30ish pm. Enjoy all the shops, views and galleries Laguna Beach has to offer without dealing with the driving and parking hassles. Enjoy a scenic, open-air ride along Laguna Canyon Road while visiting and making new friends on the trolley, with stops in downtown Laguna Beach providing access to dozens of shopping and foodie destinations throughout Laguna Beach. Best of all, parking and the trolley ride are both FREE! The Laguna Beach Summer Breeze trolley service makes a loop. (note their are other lines in service to other areas of Laguna Beach, I would not recommend that you have time to do those due to the time constraints of the afternoon; make sure you ask the driver to confirm they are the Summer Breeze - heading back to Irvine parking lot loop bus before getting back on to return) Pick up is at the same place you get dropped off at.
2:00 PM Meet up at the parking lot located at 16355 Laguna Canyon Road in Irvine, (cross street Pasteur) near the I-405/SR-133 interchange where you will see signage for Concordia University as it’s their parking lot being used. Ok to park in the flat lot or covered parking lot, as parking is free for trolley patrons. The trolley without traffic is a 20-30 minute shuttle ride to the transit depot.
Exit the trolley at “Laguna Beach Transit Depot” stop (2nd stop I think) which will put you in the heart of the downtown shopping, galleries & food district, have fun browsing. Take a short walk to the boardwalk on the beach and get your picture at the iconic lifegaurd tower!
The Summer Breeze trolley service operates every 30 minutes, leaving Irvine at :00 and :30 each hour, but can experience delays due to canyon traffic of 15+ minutes due to summer traffic on the canyon roads. plan accordingly. On return trip before boarding, check that the shuttle for the return trip that says Summer Breeze and is going back to Irvine. Often more than 1 shuttle is loading at that location, please confirm with the driver. You can track trolley status in real time click here
Or just Hang out for the afternoon visiting with friends at the Stake Center or Enjoy some DOWNTIME before the evening festivities ensue.
