Optional Post-Conference
beach day

Consider extending your conference stay for a casual Beach Day before the epic Regional Beach Bonfire FHE (Hosted by santa margarita single adult committee & HB MSA Ward)

Monday, August 4th, Huntington beach

CHILLAX, UNWIND AND SOAK IN THE SUN

10:30 AM POST-CONFERENCE BEACH HANG-OUT. Meet at Huntington Beach Lifegaurd Tower 6. We advise you to use the MobiMats accessibility walk way which cuts off 1/2 the walking on the hot sand. Bring your beach gear and plenty of sunscreen. The MobiMats are located near the 6th Street parking lot, just north of the Huntington Beach pier near tower 6 and close to Pacific Coast Highway. Access it first by walking on the bike path walking away / north of the pier, you will see it on the left near the bike racks before the end of the parking lot and the path turns around the corner.

Grab a lunch and head to the north side of the Huntington Beach Pier to have a chill day with friends. The beaches are generally great in August, warm though a little windy in the afternoon, bring layers! More meet-up details will be on facebook.

Dinner Meet-up at 4:45 pm at Sanchos Tacos in Huntington Beach across from the Beach, we will be there til about 6:15ish then head to the Bonfire.

INSIDER TIP: Street parking from 6th street north in the neighborhoods, not on PCH, is free though you may have to walk a little or park at the Pier Lot and feed the meter. https://www.surfcityusa.com/plan-your-visit/transportation-parking

6:30 PM - 10:00 PM Regional EPIC FHE BEACH BONFIRE co-hosted by Huntington Beach Single Adult Ward & Santa Margarita Singles Committee representing the OC Singles Conference. Our Bonfire pits will be located adjacent/near where the Hyatt Bridge crosses Pacific Coast Highway. Look for the Tiki’s. We will have Corn Hole, Spike Ball, Frisbee available. See Facebook event page for more information. Dinner not included but usually there are hot dogs. We will have water bottles & s’mores & other snacks, hot dogs while they last; feel free to bring extra sausages to share, to cook over the fire, or bring your own dinner if you wish to enjoy while watching the sunset and enjoying great company.

We will have a few sand games out until dark. Park closest to the pedestrian bridge of the Huntington Beach Hyatt. The firepits will be glowing - we try pits directly in front of the bridge. Look for the warm flicker of tiki torches to add to the ambience of our perfect evening with friends and laughter & a beach bonfire, an iconic SoCal Summer staple! TIP: Come before dark, as it’s always harder to find people in the dark. This is the summer send-off you won’t want to miss. Bring yourself & friends & wear layers, it can be windy in the afternoon/evening at the beach! Beach Chairs not necessary as mostly by evening chairs will be moved away from the fire as people will be standing around talking or roasting their marshmallows.

NOTE: If you are parked north of the pier for the beach party earlier, you will have a 20-30 minute walk on the beach path to get to the bonfire that evening, recommend you may wish instead to drive.

PARKING OPTIONS: There are metered parking (parking enforced 24/7) along PCH, park closest to the Hyatt Bridge that crosses PCH between Twin Dolphin Drive and Beach Blvd. There is also parking available in this lot for $15 if you have a State Park Pass (California Explorer) then your parking is included. NOTE: if you park at the pier lot it does not get you the other lot free.

Huntington Beach Pier, for the day time beach hangout you will find us hanging out to the right/North of the pier down the handicap accessible walkway closer to Lifegaurd station 6

We will be at the bonfire on the left side (South) of the pier about a 20+ minute walk south of Huntington Beach Pier. You can see the pier in the distance. Recommend moving your car for this event to be closer to the bonfire.

Dinner Crowd after beach day at Sanchos Tacos in Huntington Beach for more yummy Tacos, never enough!

Not into sitting for hours on the beach, grab some friends and take a walk on the Huntington Beach Pier and take in the views or explore Main Street and the surrounding shops.

This is the Hyatt Regency bridge you will look for on PCH as our bonfire event will be on the sand across from it. We recommend you park on the ocean side of PCH for safety reasons. Parking is metered along Pacific Coast Highway & is enforced. You can also park in the lot but it’s $15 no in & out privileges, unless you have a CA parks pass, this might work here as it’s Huntington Beach State Beach.

Bonfire OC Singles Conference evening vibes circa 2024

Experience Monday your way - take an extra vacation day on your own or with your friends. Note, some enjoy hitting up a theme park after the conference but summer crowds are usually out in force during August even on a Monday. Local theme parks are Knotts Berry Farm and Soak City Water Park at Knotts in Orange County as well as Disneyland/California Adventure (reservations required on top of a ticket) Universal Studios is about 1.5 hrs away and Magic Mountain about 2 hrs away as is Sea World in San Diego. These are non-hosted events, make your own plans if you choose to go or feel free to post on facebook that you are seeking others that might be interested in going.

Monday is a great day to walk around Laguna Beach with some of the most picturesque So Cal’s Beaches found here. Google Heisler Park for beautiful walkways along the bluffs of the beach with some beach access points. Downtown Laguna has lots of art and craft galleries, shopping and restaurants. Parking can be VERY challenging later in the day, so go early and get lunch. Into Arts & Crafts? Grab some friends and check out the Sawdust Festival in Laguna Beach. Check out the prices/times at www.sawdustartfestival.org. Parking & Trolley info (no pick up on Monday in Irvine) - https://www.lagunabeachcity.net/live-here/parking-and-transportation

Enjoy time at the Newport Beach Temple Grounds and book a session (note they don’t have rentals but sometimes they may have limited loaner clothing) then join us at dinner and the bonfire in Huntington Beach. Stroll main street Huntington Beach the shopping district and to feel the beach town vibes. Treat yourself to an ice cream!

Some conference goers are die-hard Disney peeps and don’t care about the summer crowds! Feel free to post on Facebook conference site if this is your plan and you are seeking company. Many of our locals that have passes are blocked out in the summer tho.

Are you an early bird? 9am Gather a few friends and get some exercise going kayaking or SUP at Huntington Harbor before joining us at the Beach
